| 2009
It's been a humbling and eye-opening experience these past few months now that my working life has started in the city. 2008 shaped up to be a year unlike any other, as I was fortunate enough to finish my degree in the winter and had a full semester to do pretty much whatever i wanted.
I was free to travel, to reflect and bum around campus 7 days a week. Spending my last semester on campus was truly a rewarding time, as I had more time to usual to do the small memorable things that only happen with a college campus that would surely be missing from the working life.
In many ways the end to my college life has been quite similar to the end of high school. Another quick dropoff from seeing your friends everyday; another wave of goodbyes and slow realizations that relationships would fade and be tested as distances and paths grew further apart.
The last half of 2008 seemed cluttered with more and more terrible news. A lot of issues in the economy, banks failing, the death of the American auto industry, Mumbai, even the return of pirates off the coast of Somalia.
I can only stay hopeful and keep my outlook positive for a better 2009. I hope this year bring easing to a lot of the pain that our country has endured, both economically and with our relations abroad.
On my own front, I'm looking forward to a year dedicated to stronger relationships and staying healthy as a person.
